Our Lilla P Winners Revealed!

By Store Adore

We adore all of you Store Adore shoppers who scrambled your friends together in an attempt to refer the most new users and win a Lilla P gift certificate card in our last Store Adore giveaway. We knew that many would enter, but alas, there were only two $250 prizes to be had. It is no wonder then that when one of our winners, Claudia T. received the news that she had earned one of the sought after prizes, her first act of celebration was “bouncing up and down at my computer. I gave a little shriek too!”

What was the first thing UCLA PhD candidate Claudia added to her basket as she surfed the Lilla P site? “First on my list was the famous Origami Wrap. Living in Los Angeles- where it is always sunny but gets chilly at night, I am always looking for a cover-up that isn’t too bulky. I want to be warm, but still fashionable when I go out at night, and one of these wraps will work wonderfully,” the strategic shopper says. A Store Adore favorite (and seen in our Fox & Friends segment), the Lilla P Origami Wrap, $98) is an infinite number of outfits in one—depending on how you tie it, it’s a halter, a cardigan, an evening shawl and more.

Claudia also selected Lilla P’s Pima Stretch Dress. “It looks both comfortable and elegant which is a tough combination to come across,” she says. “This dress will also transition well from daywear to evening, so I can wear it to the office or to teach and then meet a friend for dinner and still look appropriate- and stylish!” While the Pima Stretch dresses comes in a multitude of styles, we like V Neck version, $115). Well done Claudia!

Not only did Claudia receive a $250 gift card from Lilla P, but she was also a first time shopper on the site, which means that she redeemed the exclusive Lilla P Store Adore discount of 20 percent off her first Lilla P purchase. Our second winner, AnnP., was also thrilled with her win. In fact, She felt that the gift was so generous that she decided to share the bounty with her daughter-in-law.

Ann’s effortlessly chic style was the perfect match for Lilla P’s selection of luxurious casual wear. The Lilla P Pima Stretch Panel Skirt ($76) was made for Ann’s day-to-day routine. “I need clothes that look put together, but aren’t over the top. This is the perfect anytime skirt.”

Ann’s daughter-in-law Corey chose the Cotton Cashmere Turtleneck ($138). The more conservative high neck of this flattering top is well-balanced by the fitted body and elbow length sleeves. Corey will wear it to work with loose fitting pants or a pencil skirt.

As Store Adore shoppers, both Claudia and Ann did us proud! These two lucky ladies were the winners of our most recent giveaway, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be next. Our next Store Adore winner will get a free Treesje bag worth $690. Click here for details.

The only thing better than going on a summer getaway is planning for your trip. But with travel becoming increasingly more complicated and cumbersome, packing strategically has become a requirement. Here are our tips for travel bags and items to get you there in style—looking no further than the overhead compartment.

TRAVEL BAGS:

First, with so many airlines charging for checked suitcases (not to mention the dread of lost luggage!), we prefer to carry on. Since you’ll be lugging your bags around with you, we recommend suitcases that are lightweight, cushioned, and leave room for shopping:

1)

Hayden Harnett Ibiza Convertible Flight Tote (regularly $198, Store Adore price $158) Hayden Harnett handbags and luggage are artfully constructed and retain a bit of a rocker edge. Expandable and with extra padding for a laptop, this one can be worn as a day bag (use the convertible straps to wear it cross body or over the shoulder) or folded up and stored it inside of a larger bag. Intuition Animal Print Tote with Wheels (regularly $98, Store Adore price $78) From Intution, the celeb-fave, trend-setting site, this chic bag boasts a 14 inch pulley easily concealed by a zipper, 2 interior compartments, and a matching, detachable zipper pouch. Click here to get 20% off EVERYTHING at Intuition.

Aspinal Premium Travel Bag from Redpig (weekender regularly $580, Store Adore price $464; grand tourer regularly $690, Store Adore price $552) A new site devoted to luxury gifting, Redpig devotes an entire section to travel. This classic bag, handmade from English bridle leather, is super sturdy but soft—perfect for the jetsetting guy. Click here to get 20% off EVERYTHING at Redpig.

INSIDE YOUR SUITCASE:

Pack items that do double—or even triple—duty. Here are a few genius pieces that have a permanent place inside our suitcase.

Lilla P Origami Wrap (regularly $98, Store Adore price $78) The soft cotton wrap can be worn at least seven ways—one for every day of your week off. A video on the Lilla P site shows you how to do it—genius! Click here to get 20% off EVERYTHING at Lilla P.

Echo Ikat Large Scarf from South Moon Under (regularly $68, Store Adore price $54) Inspired by Hollywood, oversized scarves are now a year-round accessory. Wear this ikat print one—another huge trend right now—around your neck (even during summer!), as a travel blank or even as a sarong on the beach. Click here to get 20% off EVERYTHING at South Moon Under’s website and 11 store locations—for men, women, kids, and home.

Gypsy Maxi Dress from Pink Mascara (regularly $132, Store Adore Price $112) You’ve probably seen this look on your favorite starlet too. Maxi dresses can be worn by day with flights, by night with jewelry, and are the chic-est new travel gear—as comfortable by so much more stylish than a sweat suit. Tie dye is huge this season. Click here to get $20 off any purchase of $100 or more from Pink Mascara, our go-to e-stop for of-the-moment clothing and accessories.

Alanna Bess Isle of Capri Necklace (regularly $378, Store Adore price $283) The kind of piece to end all searching: delicate, modern, and a total focal point, this versatile strand of gold links and stones can be worn 7 different ways—from choker to belt—as illustrated by the site’s guide, “7 Ways To The Isle Of Capri”. Click here to get 25% off ALL Alanna Bess jewelry.

Multi-Tasking Co-Ed Beauty Items from Beautyhabit: Save serious space with a cosmetic bag filled with multi-tasking products that the whole family can share. Men will recoil from anything too pink, but double duty items that are “officially” made for guys can be used by women too. A few we like: Hamadi Shea Pomade (regularly $24, Store Adore price $19) can be used as a styling product for short or long hair; moisturizes and serves as a natural sunscreen for the scalp; and can be used as a skin moisturizer. Belou’s P Mosquito Repellent Oil (regularly $35, Store Adore price $28) is perfect for post-beach—a sesame seed oil base calms sunburned skin and acts as a natural insect repellent. Bonny Doon Farm Salves (regularly $9, Store Adore price $7) are the best all-around product—use as a lip balm or to soothe chapped elbows or hands. The light spruce scent of The Lodge acts as a subtle fragrance for men or women. All items are carry-on friendly. Click here to get 20% off everything at Beautyhabit.

Soft, cozy, ultra-wearable—we’re talking about your favorite tee, that flattering and versatile thing you’re not sure how you could live without. But we could very well be describing every piece sold by über tee maven Lilla P. Pauline Nakios plugged into our deep love of the iconic T-shirt when she founded the brand in 1998, and it’s become a go-to for high-quality iterations of the perfect tee in all its forms (tanks, scoopnecks, raglan-sleeved cardigans, turtlenecks, you name it). Nakios has also incorporated the same drapey fabrics into pieces we’re mad for—like fabulous pima cotton fold-over skirts and super-flattering tank dresses.

Starting July 30th, we’ll be giving away 3 gift certificates worth $250 each at Lilla P’s comprehensive e-shop. Stay tuned for info on how to win!

Shop Talk with Adelaide Fives, Co-Founder of In Good Company Workplaces

Adelaide Fives is a woman after our own hearts. Not only is she an enterprising female entrepreneur who is dedicated to supporting others women in the midst of starting and growing their own businesses, but she is also as passionate about shopping as we are. (We got to know her when she emailed us to give us kudos on Store Adore talk about a sweet beginning.)

Fives describes her business, In Good Company Workplaces, as community for women entrepreneurs to both work and network. The warm loft-style space in New York’s Flatiron District boasts workspaces, meetings rooms, a lounge, and more, where entrepreneurs can do their individual work in one another’s company or take advantage of speakers and events that In Good Company puts together. Fives launched the business along with her partner Amy Abrams as a solution for a need they identified for affordable office space where women could leverage one another’s talents and experiences.

While you’re unlikely to have a romance here, aspiring entrepreneurs will appreciate the services, the fair and flexible prices, and the charming minimalist sleek decor–evidence of the founders’ penchant for chic design.

We asked Fives, who works in New York, lives in Philadelphia, and shops online, to pickfive of her favorite Store Adore stores. “I chose all of these stores, ” she says, “not only because of the fabulous products they sell, but also because of the women behind them. Each of these stores is owned by a woman I love and whose strength I admire. Katherine (Hable Construction), Susan (Hable Construction), Wendy (Built by Wendy), Pauline (Lilla P), Malia (Malia Mills), Carol (Malia Mills), Corinne (Purdy Girl), and Nadine (Purdy Girl) are fabulous entrepreneurs who have worked hard to create what they have, and who all consistently demonstrate vision, innovation, and perseverance. Their integrity and talent is clearly demonstrated in what they have created!:

1. Hable Construction: “Hable’s line is beautiful, versatile, modern and fresh. The store is like a little haven, lots to look at and lots to desire. These orange mum pillows are so fresh for spring.” ($150)

2. Built By Wendy: “Fashionable with an edge, Built By Wendy’s clean layout makes the place feel like a clutter-free walk-in closet, which allows you to focus on the fabulous clothes.”

3. Lilla P: “You can’t go wrong with these pieces–well made basics with quality that you can count on. ” (Store Adore Shoppers: check out your 20 percent Lilla P discount.)

4. Malia Mills: “Selecting a bathing suit is often one of the most anxiety-producing shopping ventures, but not at Malia Mills. These are gracious experts who make you feel comfortable about your body and are able to select and suggest items that will look great on you!” (Store Adore shoppers: check out your $50 coupon from Malia Mills.)

5. Purdy Girl: “I have findy it nearly impossible to walk out empty handed from this Greenwich Village and Upper West Side favorite.”

For shoppers in the New York area, head to the In Good Company Workplaces Shop for a Cause event this Thursday, May 8th to shop from local designers and help support aspiring women entrepreneurs around the world.
