The bridal costume is, in every culture, the most dreamlike ensemble most women will ever wear. Tejani Jewelry is the ultimate resource for those gals whose tastes run regal (and who don’t have funds to ice themselves in Harry Winston), blinging out brides and maids alike with elaborately crafted costume pieces worthy of Cleopatra. Head designer Urvi Prunier draws on both the art of India and her personal marketing experience at fashion houses like Chanel to hone the Tejani line of bangles, necklaces, earrings and pins, which range from subtle and delicate to awe-inspiring.

We Adore: We can’t wait to get these 18k gold plated topaz and crystal Stackable Bangles (regularly $295, Store Adore price $236) around our wrists. Available in sizes ranging from extra-small to extra-large, they’re perfect for every wrist, and the bold earthy colors accent any bright fall day.

We Adore: These Chandelier Earrings (regularly $145, Store Adore price $116) for making our necks look longer than Audrey Hepburn’s. They’re 18K gold plated with zircon and large crystal drops—good luck trying to keep them in the jewelery box!

We Adore: Add a dash of sweetness to any fall coat or sweater with this Floral Brooch (regularly $75, Store Adore price $60). With it’s silver matte finish with zircon and a perfect cultured pearl at the center, you’ll smile as soon as you pin it on.

She’s your art-school colleague: the girl that was friends with EVERYONE, the girl that grew up on a remote island you can’t even pronounce, the girl who threw amazing parties—no—salons, the girl that lived, breathed, and spoke art.

And there’s a chance you might run into her at the Linhardt Design Studio Jewelry Screening & Reception on Saturday, November 15th, from 1:00pm to 10:00pm.

Designer Lisa Linhardt uses recyclable metals and sustainable materials to sculpt beautiful and wearable works of art, such as the exclusive designs created for the Binetti runway at Fashion Week 2008, which you can view at the fashion show screening at 7:00pm and 9:00pm.  Linhardt will also be debuting new pieces created for her Fall 2008 house collection.

All attendees must RSVP to info@linhardtdesign.com.  Use the invitation above to get 10% off your purchase when you present a printout at the register.

Now’s your turn to be that girl.

New Exclusive Deal: Store Adore Shoppers Save 20% on Everything at Exhibitionist NYC!

Announcing the latest Store Adore deal: Save 20 percent on your purchase at Exhibitionist NYC.

With the right design touch, goth can go smoking hot. Madonna proved it in her “Like a Prayer” video (what’s fiercer than blood, fire and a black negligee?), and these days, the trappings of goth-chic show up everywhere from emo concerts to Parisian runways. Back in 2001, jewelry designer Michael Spirito hooked celebs and style junkies on Exhibitionist NYC, his high-end line with a sense of humor. In his shop on Orchard Street, Spirito’s dramatic pieces rest on velvet in glass cases amid a grotesque yet impossible-not-to-stare-at display of giant framed insects. The collection draws on the inevitable religious iconography (crucifix pendants dangle from crossed pirate swords, and delicate curved crosses look almost like tree branches), as well as skull, pearl and crown themes. Though it’s, er, dominated by a dark, spiky S&M vibe, the ballsy collection knows how to have fun—and can at times even play adorable. From mini skull earrings with diamond eyes (among the line’s biggest—and cutest—sellers) to onyx spears, angel-wing pendants and dramatic marquis gems in ornate medieval settings, the line derives its eccentric grace from clean silhouettes, beautiful gems and glittering finishes. (Prices start at around $500 for a silver flaming-heart pendant but soar into the thousands for custom work and diamonds.) The store takes custom orders and has the most to offer, but check out the website to shop select pieces and browse Spirito’s signature line of extravagant multistrand stunners in dramatic hues. Store Adore shoppers save 20 percent at either spot.

We Adore: The 6 Skull Ring (regularly $360, Store Adore price $288) for its glam meets goth designs. This piece will make any jeans-and-tee day seem like a special one. Choose from five different stones as eye colors. We like the unexpected dash of femininity provided by the pink cz shown, but amethyst and onyx are cool too.

We Adore: These Small Wing Studs (regularly $50, Store Adore price $40) are at once flirty and rebellious.

We Adore Somehow, this snake duo pendant (regularly $155, Store Adore price $124) seems romantic.

Store Interview: Lazuli Jewelry

With this season’s bright colors and bold statements, its important to make sure your jewelery stands up. In her Copley Square showroom, surrounded by wall panels in berry colors and glass cases filled with her designs, Lana Barakat is quick to help customers navigate the collections that make up her bold geometric jewelry line, Lazuli Jewelry. Lazuli’s Cubist group of brightly colored shapes is inspired by paint chips, with a palette that changes each season. These pieces, fashioned from sterling silver and resin, launched Barakat’s career, and made up the bulk of her inventory in the first Lazuli boutique, which was housed on Newbury Street. These days, her line has evolved to include new collections, including Organic, Copper and others. Here Lana talks all about her newly relaunched eshop, styles she’s getting ready for and trends she’s ready to leave behind.

SA: You recently re-launched your website. What features are you most excited about?

LJ: the entire site is easier to navigate and looks very sharp and clean. Best of all it features a way to view each piece up close and even on a model, so you can really get a feel for it. This is key not only when shopping for yourself, but also when buying gifts for others!

SA: What item has been flying off the shelves in your store?

LJ: All the items in our copper collection are fantastic sellers! The Copper Flora Bracelet ($60.00) is an adjustable copper cuff topped with a chunky etched glass flower.I am excited to announce that we are launching a new collection of genuine high quality leather and sterling silver and gold plated bib necklaces and wide cuffs, as well as sterling silver and gold plated embellished chunky wood bangles cuffs, and rings. These are high impact designs that will be our hottest items for the holidays.

SA: What is the craziest customer experience you’ve had?

LJ: A customer loved our jewelry so much she referred her mother and sister, who referred a cousin and several friends. Strangers that would comment on the original customer’s jewelry when she would be out on the town became customers! All those customers from one and counting. That is crazy!

SA: What trends are you happy to see go?

LJ : Skulls and cross bones

SA: I you could only chose one word to embody your store or brand, what would it be?

LJ: Bold

SA: If you could recommend one item from your store or brand to our shoppers this season, what would it be?

LJ: This is a hard one because there are so many great pieces but I would have to say something in Gold or copper depending on the customer’s style!

SA: If you could dress any celebrity, who would it be?

LJ: That’s a hard one too but I would love to see Nicole Kidman in our Gold Pebbles Collection. Above is the Pebbles Gold Ring made of crushed, handmade 18k gold vermeil ($85.00).

Our Latest Obsessions: Cameo Brooch from Walkonthemoon

I’ve wanted to add a cameo to my jewelry rotation for a while now, and with my favorite holiday approaching (that’d be Halloween, natch), these stark iconic Victorian pieces seem especially apropos. The colors of this orange-on-black cellulose number—available as a ring or brooch—really pop and are a nice alternative to the usual black and white. I love the intricate scrolls in the setting. It’s a recession-friendly bargain at $18, and the cameo comes other fun color combos (like neon green and pink, if you’re feeling very ’80s). Buy it from Walkonthemoon (who has a ton of other fun jewelry designs for sale, btw) at at fabulous D.I.Y. depot Etsy.com.

Sure, you should be able to interchange every pendant and charm you collect with every chain you own, but it never seems to work out that way. Indeed, a perfect fit, unless you bought the charm and chain together, is rare. Enter Dara Adams, whose Sterling, VA. company Full Circle Studio came up with the brilliant idea of a little toggle bar and loop that lets you swap out a near-infinite number of charms on a single, all-purpose chain. The concept is simple: choose a chain (there are silver, gold and leather varieties), then choose a charm (you’ll find about a hundred to choose from at any given time, from the simple to the ornate, in materials we love like crystal and vermeil). There are ’literally thousands” of charms waiting in the wings, according to Adams, and as soon as one model sells out (there are only two or three of any given charm), new designs appear in her online store.

We Adore: The rough-hewn cut of the stone on this citrine drop pendant is counterbalanced by its opulent shimmer regularly $28, Store Adore price $22).

We Adore: We’re captivated by the peacock beads on this freshwater pearl and cracked glass drop necklace (regularly $24, Store Adore price $19)

Brooklyn Flea: A Weekly Mecca

By Lexi Green

I live in Fort Greene, a few blocks away from Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School where the Brooklyn Flea takes place each and every Sunday. Based on my geographic luck I am able to walk on over to the Brooklyn Flea every weekend and have the great pleasure of scanning over (and buying) some pretty ingenious pieces from the fabulous list of rotating and permanent designers and vintage sellers. To give a glimpse of my weekly love affair, here is list of some of my favorite vendors: from jewelry to toys, to fashions old and new, to some seriously tasty treats:

Bonbon Oiseau

Bonbon Oiseau’s multi-layered, mixed jeweled & antique pieces are wonderfully charming and unique. I make sure to always catch what is at the booth. These are some great pieces:

Papillon Necklace

The Papillon Necklace

Crab Money Clip - Perfect present for the guy(s) in your life

Le Fleur et l’ourse bracelet

Greenjeans

From furniture to toys and even cutting boards to perfume bottles, Greenjeans brings together some of the best ecologically conscious craftsmanship in the country. I was smitten with one of their wooden bath toys (I’m eyeing it for an upcoming first birthday for a little one I know). And each Sunday in October, Greanjeans will host its very own Fall Furniture Fair at the Flea! It will present work by a curated group of eight different furniture makers, focusing on apartment-friendly pieces: chairs, counter-height stools, end tables, coffee tables, credenzas and more.

California-made wine barrel folding chair

Coolest log toy truck EVER. Made in Maine.

Making the trip even more worthwhile is the long list of food vendors — and this ain’t no hot dog at your local ball park. From homemade cannolis to pickles, organic chocolate and Mexican cuisine, the food vendors are all comprised of local restaurants, independent bakers and chefs.

Kumquat Bakery Mini Cupcakes. A teeny tiny piece of heaven.
