The epitome of effortless chic is California style: the laid back, but always together look that is sprawled across todays glossies. E-shop Black Label Boutique embraces the casual side of Cali fashion and makes it available to everyone with a collection of hoodies and dresses, biker jackets, boots and accessories from boutique labels we’ve come to associate with the West Coast. For a look that is relaxed, but never sloppy, and casual, but never dull, Black Label Boutique supplies all the Cali-cool necessities, now at 20 percent off!

Fun, flirty, and fuss-free, this Ombre Tube Dress from Sky (regularly $189, Store Adore Price $151.20) is the proof of the provocative power of a seductive silhouette. Cut to graze all the right places, splashes of yellow and grey make this piece scream “playful” not “prowling”.

The true California girl can’t escape her hippie roots, and the “One of a Kind” Gold Peace Necklace (regularly $165, Store Adore Price $132) is the perfect way to add a dash of counter culture couture to your wardrobe. The sparkling gold pendant against the more earthy leather braid is a true balance of rugged and refined.

Announcing the latest Store Adore deal: 15 percent off your order from WannaHavaCookie.

Find the special Store Adore shopping page here.

We know that we could never be food writers because the most accurate words we can come up with for these aptly named WannaHavaCookies is yum, tasty, delicious, and “We wanna hava more.” Cookie genius Marisa Birky Angebranndt hand bakes her masterpieces in her own kitchen in small batches and ships them the very same day, so they taste just-out-of-the-oven fresh when they arrive at your doorstep. Her repertoire features familiar flavors with a twist: Oatmeal has a touch of roasted almonds and tangy dried cranberries; Toffee Mills has a shot of Irish whiskey blended into the batter; and chocolate chip includes morsels of both light and dark chocolates. Order on the WannaHavaCookie e-shop and choose between several packaging options, including a box, a tin or a Chinese takeout box—from as few as six cookies to as many as four dozen.

We Adore the variety box ( Store Adore price $17) for those times when you just can’t make up your mind. Do you want to whoopie pie, the chocolate chip, or the snickerdoodle? Our answer? Have them all!

We Adore the WannaHavaCookie Woopie Pies (regularly $18 per dozen, Store Adore price $15.30) for a gourmet version of the lil’ debbies mom used to stuff in our middle school lunch boxes. With four mouthwatering flavors to chose from (chocolate and vanilla, double chocolate, chocolate and peanut butter, or chocolate and mint), we don’t think that the single dozen order will do you much good. One bite, and you’ll be back to the shopping cart.

Announcing the latest Store Adore deal: Store Adore shoppers save 20 percent on everything at JEM.

Palm Beach and web-based JEM is Jordann E. Miller’s destination for jewelry that you won’t find in every boutique. Here, baubles by Jennifer Zeuner, Amrita Singh and Alex Woo—and Miller’s own JEM line (where oversized but super-dainty star and heart shapes dangle from simple chains) and Magnolia, sparkly pendants and earrings in gold, silver and vermeil, all referencing her trademark magnolia flower shape—share an elegant and highly browse-able space.

We Adore: This Alex Woo Narissa Cuff Bracelet (regularly $550, Store Adore price $440). The lightweight cuff made out of 14K yellow gold vermeil is everything delicate and bold; sophisticated and offbeat. Whether you wear it with jeans or a cocktail dress, people are sure to take notice.

We Adore: This CC Skye Turquoise Enamel Cocktail Ring (regularly $145, Store Adore price $116) has us drooling over it’s detailed yellow gold plated setting and look-at-me turquoise stone. It’s rock-and-roll meets cocktail classic.

We Adore: When it comes to jewelry this season, there seems to be only one rule, the bigger the better! This crystal bib necklace by Gerard Yosca (regularly $325, Store Adore price $260) certainly gets the job done. Consider it your style uniform for the holiday party season.

Store Adore shoppers save 10 percent on everything at Braccialini. (Visit the Manhattan Store or call to order 212-334-2441 and mention Store Adore.)

“In your handbag, there’s all your life” said Carla Braccialini. “And if all your life’s in your handbag, then you might as well keep it interesting,” we imagine she would have continued. Since 1954, Braccialini’s eponymous, family-run company has been churning out rich leather handbags from its Florence-based showroom that are unlike any you’ll see elsewhere—guaranteed. Bags run the gamut from porcupine-shaped purses to patchwork quilt-y hobo bags; from bright metallic clutches to sleek black bags. Utilizing a multitude of textures, colors and details (often on the same piece) designer Carla Braccialini crafts bags that are truly unique. The Brigitta Clutch (regularly $573, Store Adore price $516) combines current trends (a rich plum hue, intricate quilting and a bright metallic “B”) with an overall timeless aesthetic—it’s no surprise that it has been a part of the collection for years.

We Also Adore: The Chantal (regularly $842.00, Store Adore Price $757.80) has a chic European feel and an understated subtlety. The simple structured design is offset by a glistening patent leather finish and a shelling detail.

Announcing the latest Store Adore deal: Store Adore Shoppers Save 15 percent on handbags, shoes, and scarves, and 20 percent all Moojoo Ken sets (matching bag and shoes).

The name MooJoo Ken comes from a Japanese word meaning “unconditional.” And true to its name, everything in this accessories store—from the bags and shoes to the decor—is unconditionally unique. The store’s bread and butter is the wildly unconventional accessories, like satchels, boots and high heels that are silk-screened and hand-painted in mod designs, each of which incorporates the store’s modified-square emblem. Fun, funky, and definitely original, this line of embellished accessories is just what you need if all you desire is a good head turn when you walk down the street.

We Adore: The Unagi handbag in black patent leather (regularly $285, Store Adore Price $242) is a Store Adore staff favorite, the bag is the perfect size for the daytime run-around, but retains the crisp and sexy elegance of an evening shoulder-slung accessory. Pair it with the shoes (regularly $150, Store Adore price $127) for a polished look that isn’t over-the-top matchy. Buy the set for $348.

New Exclusive Discount: Store Adore Shoppers Save 20% on Everything at Sienna (Online and Los Angeles)

Monday, October 20th, 2008
Posted in Exclusive Discounts, Store Adore Blog, Uncategorized

Manhattan transplants Carter Hancock and Jennifer Mastracco know the key to pulling a look together from head to toe. The proof is online at Sienna, their newly launched e-shop, where images of creatively coordinated, click-and-buy outfits inspire even the most I’ve-seen-it-all of shoppers. Long on high-waisted skirts; big bow blouses; ruffle-y camisoles; and shapely, belted dresses, and short on the jeans-and-tees uniform of Los Angeles, where Sienna is based, the selection feels pulled from an earlier, more polished, era. Nevertheless, these are just the pieces we’re coveting right now. Clothing hails from brands like Walter, Corey Lynn Calter, Karen Zambos, Rachel Pally, and Vivienne Tam—a mix of new and familiar, East Coast and West; while accessories from the likes of Chan Luu and Balboa include breezy scarves, wrapped bangles, oversized beaded necklaces and other outfit-making accents. Note to shoppers: though Sienna was formerly on Melrose Avenue, its primary residence is now online, although neighborhood style makers can call to set up private appointments in the new Cosmo Street showroom.

We Adore: From the e-shop’s inspirational “outfits” section, effortlessly scoop up a heavily textured Walter crinkled pencil skirt (regularly, $195, Store Adore price $156), a Balboa Asian charm necklace (regularly $175, Store Adore price $140), a Chan Luu mother of pearl rings necklace (regularly $305, Store Adore price $244) and a Grace Sun tiered top (love the chandelier print, regularly, $175 Store Adore price $140) in a matter of clicks.

We Adore: A breezy Corey Lynn Calter puff sleeve top (regularly $175, Store Adore price $140) is the right way to wear the winter floral trend. A seasonless piece, it pairs easily with jeans or work pants, or something lighter in warmer weather.

We Adore: We love the look of bib necklaces, but sometimes they feel overdone. The all-white stones on this Balboa white jade necklace (regularly $395, Store Adore price $316) balance the chunky look.

Dinner Party Details

Posted in Exclusive Discounts, Shopping List, Store Adore Blog, Uncategorized
By McLean Robbins

For this fashionista, Friday is a momentous day. No, not because it’s the start of a weekend (yes, it’s only Monday, but I’m already thinking ahead) , but because it’s going to be my first full-on dinner party since moving back to DC nearly two years ago. I’ve done (most) of the shopping, planned the fall-themed menu, and even bought the wine. Now all that’s left is the decor.

I’m going for “fall harvest chic” with a smidgen of Halloween kitsch thrown in.

I’d prefer to send paper invites, but let’s face it … twenty-somethings are on a budget, and most of my girlfriends check their REAL mailboxes about once per week, if that. So I used my $15 yearly membership on IoMoi for super cute (and cheap) e-vites instead. Traditionalists shouldn’t worry … you can browse the site for real (paper) cards too, plus personalized lucite paperweights and trays, address labels and more.

These may LOOK like ordinary glasses, but they’re really multifunctional. Picture this dessert: thin layers of spice cake (use the glass like a cookie cutter), with alternating middle portions of caramel and warm apple compote … voila, they’re wine glasses, dessert cups, and even, in a pinch, candle holders ($4.95 each at CB2)

These “skull and bones” ice cube trays are perfect to chill my spiced punch. Normally, I use the “diamond” shaped ones, but these are a perfect (not to mention, inexpensive) touch of Halloween. They’re normally $8 per tray at PlumParty.com, but with my exclusive 20 percent Store Adore discount, I can get them for $6.60. (Just enter code “ADORE” at checkout.)

I’m still in a bind as far as a centerpiece, but I’m learning towards these decorative pumpkins, also from Plum Party. Handmade from natural husks and rattan, they evoke an all-natural, earthy sense of fall, with a wink towards Halloween (in various sizes and colors, regularly $14-$29).

I may be the hostess with the mostest of this particular bash, but if a friend of mine were hosting a similar soiree, I’d bring this “Grow Your Own Apple Tree” kit in lieu of a bottle of wine (regularly $22). It’s eco-friendly and thematically appropriate. I found it at spirited gift site Wishingfish, where Store Adore shoppers save 20 percent on a purchase of $40 or more by entering code “storeadore” at checkout.
